Mr. Meyer has been with Reese, Pyle, Drake & Meyer since 1977, working primarily in the area of litigation, and has accumulated significant jury trial experience in Licking, Franklin, and other central and southeastern Ohio counties over the course of more than three decades.
Mr. Meyer also maintains an active general practice, representing individuals, businesses, non-profit corporations, and the local healthcare system on a wide variety of matters that do not involve litigation including the area of Elder Law. He holds the current appointment as Outside Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General for Central Ohio Technical College and is the past President of the Licking County Bar Association (2012-2013).
Mr. Meyer has been active in civic and volunteer activities for many years in the Licking County community, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Ohio State University at Newark, First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Newark, the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, and the Newark Rotary Club.
He and his wife Sharman reside in Newark and have three grown children.
Mr. Crawford has a general practice focusing on litigation, having tried numerous jury trials in several central Ohio counties. The subjects of these jury trials ranged from personal injury (both for plaintiff and defendant), employment, real estate and serious felonies. Mr. Crawford has also successfully defended several clients on OVI charges both by obtaining dismissals of the charge and through successful jury verdicts. His litigation work also includes an active domestic practice. On the transactional side, he has considerable experience in business acquisitions and sales and has performed estate planning for a variety of clients.
Over the past several years, Mr. Crawford has been actively involved in civic affairs, serving as President of the Granville Village Exempted School District School Board, Granville Recreation Commission and Granville Kiwanis, as well as Vice President of the Center for Disability Services Board. He also serves the Blue Aces as the announcer for Granville High School home football games.
Mr. Nelson has a varied civil litigation practice, including business and collection litigation, foreclosures, and defense of personal injury cases. He helps individuals and couples with adoptions in the Probate Court, and assists creditors in Bankruptcy Court.
Mr. Nelson also serves as an Acting Judge with the Licking County Municipal Court, as well as a Mediator for the Licking County Court of Common Pleas. He is admitted to practice in all Ohio state courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
He is active in the Newark Kiwanis Club (President, 2008-09) and the Historic Hudson Community Association. Mr. Nelson likes to spend spare time outdoors, and sailing and camping with his family when possible.
Mrs. Clovis has been practicing law since 1998 and has been with the firm since 2005. In 1995, she graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in history and a minor in economics. Mrs. Clovis attended law school at Case Western Reserve School of Law on a full academic scholarship and graduated cum laude. After law school, she practiced as an Assistant State Public Defender for several years. She has also worked as a hearing officer for the State Medical Board of Ohio, presiding over licensure and disciplinary hearings.
Mrs. Clovis practices in the areas of real estate, probate, estate planning, and corporate law.
She is also currently a board member of the Granville Public Library and the Secretary of the Newark Campus Development Fund.
The name “Siobhan” is Gaelic and is pronounced like “Shivonne.”
Robert graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University, where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Robert then earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School. Prior to joining Reese, Pyle, Drake & Meyer, Robert practiced as an Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Legal Fellow at Southeastern Ohio Legal Services. There he provided civil legal representation to homeless and low-income veterans with issues related to housing, disability benefits claims, consumer and employment law issues, and general family law matters. A veteran himself, Robert also served as an infantryman in the U.S. Army from 2002-2007, where he trained and mentored soldiers, and served as a rifleman and sawgunner for security patrols, raids, and general reconnaissance missions in Iraq.
Robert has a general civil practice. He is admitted to practice in all Ohio state courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
Robert resides in Newark with his wife and two young children. He enjoys studying early American history, reading political philosophy, hiking, and barbecuing with friends and family.
Mr. Suskind practices in the areas of elder and disability law, estate planning and settlement, personal income taxation, and real estate law. He often speaks to community and professional groups concerning his areas of practice. Mr. Suskind counsels individuals and families about managing the costs of nursing home and assisted living care and advises clients about Medicaid and Veterans benefits. He also assists families with trusts or other means of enhancing the lives of people with special needs.
He is a past President of the Licking County Bar Association and has served as Solicitor for the Villages of Utica and Croton, Ohio. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association (member, Elder Law Committee), American Bar Association, National Association of Tax Professionals, and National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
Mr. Suskind is active in his community, serving on the boards of directors of The Midland Theatre and the Carol Strawn (Alzheimer’s) Center. He is a member of the Licking Memorial Hospital Development Council.
He and his wife Beth live in Newark and have four grown children.
Mr. Wenger’s practice areas include civil and personal injury litigation, insurance defense, probate litigation, domestic relations and family law, and mediation. He is also involved in bar association activities, and in 1996 was a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Special Committee on Civil Justice Reforms. In addition to being admitted to practice law in Ohio, he is admitted to practice in the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.
Mr. Wenger is quite active in the community, having served in many civic and volunteer positions. Mr. Wenger currently serves as President of the Board of Trustees of Mental Health America of Licking County. He was formerly President of the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities for seven years, Vice President of Planning for the Board of Trustees of the United Way of Licking County, and member of the Newark City Civil Service Commission. Dave is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Newark, having served as its President in 1989-90.
Mr. Wenger and his wife reside in Granville and have three grown children.
Ms. Albright received her law degree from Capital University Law School summa cum laude, and has a B.A. from the University of Dayton, and M.A. from The Ohio State University. While in law school, Ms. Albright served as the editor-in-chief of the Capital University Law Review.
She is active in a number of community groups, including work with Newark Development Partners, Newark Campus Development Fund, and Licking County Coalition for Housing. She is a member of the Professional Advisory Group of The Catholic Foundation. She previously served on the boards of of Pathways of Licking County, Hospice of Central Ohio, Licking County Chamber of Commerce, Licking County Law Library Association, and St. John Learning Center.
Ms. Albright has two grown children and lives in Heath.
She is licensed to practice in the State of Ohio.
Mr. Lodge has an extensive practice in estate planning, probate, taxation, business, and real estate matters. He is a member of the Licking County and Ohio State Bar Associations, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Lodge currently serves as the Chairman and Fiscal Officer of the Granville Recreation District Board of Trustees. He also serves on the executive committee of the Newark-Granville Symphony Orchestra and is a past president and current board member of the Granville Tennis Club. He was previously on the executive committee of the Granville Recreation Commission.
Mr. Lodge lives in Granville with his wife Sandra and their three children.
Mr. Heckman earned his law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2008 and his undergraduate degree from Miami University in 2002. While in law school, Mr. Heckman served as a managing editor for the Ohio State Law Journal and represented the law school as a member of the National moot court team. Additionally, his student Note on federal sentencing law was published in the Ohio State Law Journal. Prior to law school, Mr. Heckman taught history and coached baseball at Granville High School.
Mr. Heckman’s practice areas include estate planning, probate, real estate, business, and exempt organizations. Mr. Heckman is admitted to practice law in Ohio and admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio. He is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association.
Mr. Heckman is currently a board member of the Licking County Chamber of Commerce, Canal Market District and Enterprise Hub, Granville Education Foundation, and Licking County Community Health Care.
Mr. Heckman lives in Granville and enjoys spending time with his wife, Sally, and their three children.
Stephanie Tackett graduated from Ohio University, summa cum laude, in 1997. She earned her law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2004, where she also obtained a certificate in Health Law.
She has been a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department for 22 years. She is a member of the 100+ Women Who Care of Licking County.
Stephanie is a native Ohioan but lived in Chicago and the Washington D.C area for eighteen years. She recently returned to Ohio and lives in Granville with her husband, Bart, and their four children, Ethan, Quinn, Cora and Tatum.
Mr. Reese was our long-time senior partner and the great moving force behind the growth and success of this law firm, which still bears his name.
Mr. Reese’s professional accomplishments aside, he is best known as a great community leader who was instrumental in the establishment and development of the Ohio State University Newark Campus and Central Ohio Technical College. In his capacity as Chairman of the Thomas J. Evans Foundation, he was and remains a major philanthropic force in Newark and Licking County, supporting local parks and recreation, community and social services, and area schools.
Mr. Reese is one of a small number of graduates to be honored by The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law as Distinguished Alumnus (1979). He also received the prestigious Community Service Award from Ohio State (2000). In 2002, the J. Gilbert Reese Chair in Contract Law was established in his honor at the Moritz College of Law.
